From Mowatt Landing to Lodge
The trip from Mowatt Landing to Lodge is fun, yet relaxing. From your car to the lodge takes about seventy five minutes.
First, when you reach Mowatt Landing, you can unload your gear and park your vehicle. It will be safe and secure during the week as we have someone to watch over your vehicles. We will have staff waiting for you at the landing to help you.
Waiting in the water are two barges. One is 30x12 feet for big groups and the other is half the size for small groups. We take you and all your gear up river to the dam. Then all your gear is loaded onto a trailer and taken up to the top of the dam. The walk from the river to the top of the dam is 600 feet so if you are tired or have physical challenges, then we will drive you up to the top of the dam via pickup truck.
At the top of the dam, we load all your gear into a stainless steel Stanley flattop boat, which is basically a high-speed barge. Then guests have a seat in our comfortable Chrestliner Cruse Boat or our King Boat and get a wonderful tour of the lake on the way to the lodge.
When we reach the docks, the staff will bring all your gear to your cabin via ATV & Trailer while you relax in the main lodge and get an introduced to Garden Island Lodge and the best Walleye fishing in Ontario.
Fly-in Option:
Another option is to fly-in to the lodge via floatplane out of Temagami, which is 35 miles south of our location. We are working on making arrangements with the air service.
